In STEPPS

Organization Description

In STEPPS is a private agency that provides Naturalistic Developmental Behavior Intervention to children of all ages and adults until age 30 with intervention. The population In STEPPS serves typically have an autism spectrum diagnosis or a different developmental disability.

Health & Safety

In STEPPS serves individuals with special needs. Sometimes, the patients we serve may receive behavior intervention for challenging behaviors such aggression (e.g., hitting, kicking, biting, hair pulling). This is a small number of patients but its potentially possible that a CSUSM student may be at the clinic at the same time a child with this behavioral profile may be served.

In STEPPS provides social skills groups in which each child in attendance has their own behavior therapist present to support and facilitate their social interaction. These groups vary in size between 5 and 10 individuals. In the event its a larger group, it would mean the supervisor is providing general oversight to more than 8 people.
