Opportunity Summary 

Scientific Adventures for Girls (SAfG) is seeking after school Head Teachers and Teaching Assistants to engage elementary-aged girls and teach hands-on STEM activities in-person at public schools in the East Bay (Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland, Richmond). A teaching credential is not required. If you’re passionate about helping shape our next generation of scientists - we'd love to have you! All classes are fun, hands-on and designed to inspire girls to love STEM!

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

How to deliver project-based STEM classes to K-6th grade girls. Building relationships with young students to help them grow and learn. Empowering young girls to take their place in the STEM classroom.

Opportunity Training 

A 2 day training will be provided prior to the beginning of classes. Teachers will attend weekly virtual meetings to review and discuss upcoming curriculum.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Clearances required are proof of negative TB Test, proof of COVID vaccinations, and passing of U.S. Department of Justice background check (LiveScan). Also, school districts require all staff follow COVID protocols.
