Organization Description

The mission of the Chico Unified School District, a partnership of students, staff, families and community, is to ensure all students achieve high levels of academic and personal success, contribute to the community and confidently compete in a changing global society by engaging in quality educational programs that address diverse student needs and promote learning throughout life.

Program Information

Learning opportunities at Fair View High School include:

  • Develop counseling and assesment skills by directly observing and working with students and their support systems
  • Individual and group counseling
  • Crisis intervention
  • Student intern will develop one clinical approach to apply in thier work
  • Observe and provide case management services to students/families
  • Learn professional documentation and mandating reporting

The student intern should be able to jump right in, be self motivatied, be able to ask for support when needed, able to work independently and with others, able to make connections with teens quickly, can deal with chaotic and unpredictible setting and unstructured days, be able to set healthy boundaries with others and self, and be able to work with others as a team. 

Health & Safety

Unpredictable behaviors from teens (i.e.anger, substance use, mental health) and home visits in high risk areas.

  • Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
  • Able to do home visits
