Opportunity Summary 

Broberg Physical Therapy offers internships that can provide the hands-on experience needed for such a hands-on job. Your internship will allow you to learn from experienced professionals, preparing you for a career helping people regain their strength, restore their mobility, and manage their pain after injuries and illnesses. Day to day, you’ll support the practice through assisting patients, compiling and evaluating patient data, and doing clerical work.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Medical terminology, proper application of therapeutic treatments/modalities, how and when to assign therapeutic exercise under the supervision of the physical therapists, proper mechanics for spotting/transferring patients, importance of accurate documentation, importance of privacy when handling PHI.

Opportunity Training 

One-on-one training with the therapists and aide staff which will go over vocabulary, planes of movement, application of modalities, and administrative and housekeeping tasks.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

All staff, including interns as well as all patients and visitors to the clinic are still required to wear a mask at all times in the clinic until further notice. Students will have direct support and supervision available at all times when in the clinic. Students will be trained in the usage of any equipment prior to use.
