Boys & Girls Clubs of Whittier

Organization Description

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Whittier / Pico Rivera provide afterschool care to youth ages 6-18. We serve over 3,000 youth all year long. Our programs focus on three areas: Good character & Citizenship, Healthy Lifestyles, and Academic achievement. Our vision is that every child that passes through our doors will graduate high school with a plan for the future.

Program Information

Students will have learning experiences at one of our 24 sites. We will assign each student with a site coordinator mentor. We have sites serving elementary school, middle school, and high school. Students can learn as they work alongside program leaders to run activities, games, provide homework help, assist in distributing snack, and help run enrichment activities like arts and crafts or science experiments. Students will work at the same site throughout their learning experience so they can build positive relationships with the youth and see the results of the programs and activities that they helped to implement.

Health & Safety

All volunteers must wear a KN-95 mask while on-site. We can provide the masks to the volunteer. Students will all be wearing masks while participating in indoor programs.
