Basic Needs at CSUMB

Program Information

The purpose of this field placement is to maintain and continue to evolve the Basic Needs program for students at CSUMB through direct student support work and ongoing program expansion and research. Interns will work with individual students struggling to meet their basic needs by engaging with them around their areas of concern and connect students to appropriate resources depending on their area of identified need with the lens of cultural humility and respect. The intern will also assist students in navigating campus and community resources, maintain and update relevant data logs, perform analysis of various Basic Needs programs, and provide feedback on improving services. One intern will also specifically work with parenting students and develop programs and resources that specifically support this population. This intern will assist in building out our support to CalWorks enrolled students, from developing the relationship with the county to conducting outreach to students.
