Opportunity Summary 

We have various opportunities for interns. Interns will learn case management at the shelter and outreach departments—crisis intervention in our hotline. Create goals with the client and a safety plan—advocate for the client in various areas. Perform outreach activities such as helping with groups and health fairs.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Case management, crisis intervention, how to provide resources, how to listen and create goals with the client, how to perform a group, customer service, and motive individuals.

Opportunity Training 

40 hour Domestic violence training

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Mask and temperature checks are done everyday at the shelter. Clients or staff that are not vaccinated must test weekly. Home test are provided. The shelter has a covid policy and procedure manual. Outreach interns must wear a mask inside the outreach office and temperature is check at the entrance.
