InternAt — City of Tracy Parks & Recreation Department

Opportunity Summary 

The student will work under the following divisions: Seniors, Youth and Teens, Community Events and Special Interest Programming. The duties will include but are not limited to assisting in coordinating programming, assisting with set up and details for events offered by the senior center, etc. The hours and days worked will be in conjunction with regular operating hours which can be between the hours of Monday through Thursday 8am to 6pm and Fridays 8am to 5pm, up to 40 hours a week.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

The student will learn about community issues, plan & organize programs & events. Student will practice skills in communication, program management, professional networking, etc. The learning outcomes taken away by the student will increase skill set of communication, customer service and collaboration with other departments.

Opportunity Training 

Initial training, job shadowing and on the job training throughout the internship will be given to student. In person & video trainings will be available.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Student will follow all city safety procedures.
