Organization Description

Mount Tamalpais College is a small community college that provides an Associate of Arts degree program and College Preparatory Program, free of charge, to incarcerated students at San Quentin State Prison.

Program Information

Student will be working with the college's library director to catalog an academic library collection of approximately 10,000 volumes. Work will include customizing a web-based library management system, establishing and mapping inclusive subject headings, and labelling and reorganizing our physical collection.

  • Analyze and/or study data

  • Develop technical content or materials (e.g. policy development, grant writing, tutorials, software/web development)
  • Edit digital content (e.g. images, videos, web content)
  • Provide general office administration (e.g. filing, data entry, processing forms, intra-office communication, meeting preparation, returning phone calls)

Health & Safety

Our campus is inside San Quentin State Prison. All Mount Tamalpais College students are incarcerated. Any on-site work will take place inside San Quentin State Prison under the supervision of college staff. The student will be required to gain clearance for entering the prison, which the college will facilitate.
