Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

The student will acquire a thorough knowledge of how clinical trial data is collected and analyzed by the Biostatistics and Statistical Programming department. Student will be involved in creating complex SAS programs that involves SAS macro language. Student will assist programming teams in creating analysis datasets, reports and submission packages for the FDA. The student will interact with their manager every week and with senior SAS programmers on a daily basis on project teams. This gives an opportunity for the student to apply theoretical knowledge acquired in school and gain practical experience in the clinical trial data analysis at the company. Employer Oversight: The manager will regularly review the student's weekly assignments and help them understand the tasks they are expected to perform. Face to face meetings will also be conducted where the progress on current tasks are discussed and challenges are identified. The department will keep track of the student's assignments in project meetings and progress trackers. Manager will maintain strict and routine on-site supervision. Senior SAS Programmers regularly mentor the student to perform complex and challenging tasks. Student will also participate in regular on-going training sessions and use prepared internal departmental training materials.
