Opportunity Summary 

We are looking for positive, self-motivated individuals looking for agricultural training with a community purpose, and in-the-field training on the details of small farm management. There are also opportunities beyond the farm field related to food access, education, and community engagement. Activities will vary based on current needs at the farm and interests of the student. Learning goals and outcomes will be collaboratively set in the beginning of the internship and student will be guided throughout the semester and evaluated based on these. We are open to one-time volunteers and semester long interns. Inerns must commit to be present at and help to facilitate with at least one of our open volunteer opportunities during the week. These occur on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Internship and short term volunteer activities will vary based on current needs at the farm and interests of the student. Learning goals and outcomes will be collaboratively set in the beginning of the internship/volunteer activity and student will be guided throughout the semester and evaluated based on these.

Opportunity Training 

Students will be provided safety training and specific task training for any activities they will be doing.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others - Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions - Can lift at least 50 pounds - Interest and willingness to learn about small-scale agriculture and participate in both the physical and mental work farming requires - Passion for interacting with, educating, and leading a diversity of community participants and volunteers of varied ages, skills, abilities, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, class and religion.
