Colusa County Adult Services

Organization Description

We are dedicated to serving Colusa County residents by offering services that improve their health, promote their well being and help them become productive and independent contributors to the community.

Program Information

Colusa County Department of Health & Human Services is a small agency which provides Adult Services. The population is primarily rural, with agriculture as the county's main work force. Colusa County Adult Services provides In Home Supportive Services Program, Adult Protective Services, and Public Guardian Program.

The role of a student intern is to be a full participant within the agency, attending Multidisciplinary Team Meetings, trainings, court proceedings, and staff meetings. Students are generally involved with clients, often times transporting, job shadowing, and assisting social workerss with cases. Additionally, there is opportunity for students to begin APS Emergency Referrals/Investigations as deemed appropriate by the agency.

Coulsa County Adult Services is looking for students that are able to transition quickly given the emergency nature of our work at times. Students should be a good source of ideas given the lack of services in our community and be able to work within a team setting.
