Pathways to Excellence

Program Information

Pathways to Excellence is a non-profit serving the rural community of Lassen County, California. Primary services consist of public health and education, as a first five initiative grant recipient. Pathways provides in-home visiting services to thirty+ discrete families per year. The Pathways director participates in many high level community meetings, partnering with WRAParound services, service referrals, and more. While Pathways has continued as an effective program, it is undergoing cuts in resources (funding) and the agency is currently engaging in a multi-year process to create a ten year sustainability plan. A student in this placement would have the opportunity to work in preventative and learning delivery styles on direct services; community partnerships; and collaborating on the creation of a socially designed sustainability and subsequent evaluation plans, under the direction of Dr. Cunningham, DSW, who donates her time as a board member and practicum instructor.

For this placement, it is imperative to have a student who is respectful of those with learned experience. Additionally, it is a small team and it is important to understand that work ethic is highly valued.
