Organization Description

The mission of the Chico Unified School District, a partnership of students, staff, families and community, is to ensure all students achieve high levels of academic and personal success, contribute to the community and confidently compete in a changing global society by engaging in quality educational programs that address diverse student needs and promote learning throughout life.

Program Information

A student intern with Loma Vista will have the following learning opportunities:

  • Collaboration with a variety of practitioners
  • Authentic practical relationship building with families
  • Planning for events
  • Interactions with preschool children, some with learning differences and/or delays
  • Research and resource gathering
  • Interaction with various agencies that impact families with young children

The student intern should be:

  • self-motivated
  • able to deal with chaotic and unpredictable students
  • Flexible
  • Willing to jump into difficult situations
  • Confident
  • Able to take feedback
  • Quick learner

 

Health & Safety

Aggressive students, exposure to communicable diseases, home visits in high risk areas, unpredictable toddlers

Additional requirements and/or considerations
  • Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
  • TB Test
  • Able to do home visits
  • Prefer Bilingual
