Promotores Program enhances the quality of life for families by promoting mental health and well-being by using a strength-based approach to empower families when delivering services. Services are available to Latino and Hmong communities of Chico, Gridley and Biggs and are free, voluntary, and there are no income eligibility requirements.
Promotores identifies community needs while collaborating with providers and agencies to facilitate access to services.
Promotores holds office hours to offer one-on-one assistance.
Promotores holds weekly educational weekly educational support groups that focus on family empowerment, mental health, well-being, and are facilitated by culturally competent staff.
The goal is to eliminate cultural barriers such as language, stigma and mistrust in order to increase access and awareness to community services specifically mental health services.
