Child Development Support and/or ResearchAt — Saddleback College Child Development Center
This opportunity provides opportunities for students to observe and research both typical and exceptional development of children from toddlerhood to Kindergarten age. It also provides opportunities to consider the effects of various family dynamics and interaction, the effects of high-quality educational environments. Students will witness the effects of relationship-based, high-quality interactions between adults and children in a play-based, developmental preschool facility.

By the end of this opportunity, students will have learned the importance of intentionality in planning and implementing programs for young children as well as the necessity of building positive relationships between children and teachers, children with each other, and teachers with families to ensure that children can develop to their full potential during the critically important years of "early childhood" (First 5).
Students will receive instruction from our Staff Manual and from direct instruction by qualified staff at the center.
Appropriate apparel, including closed-toe shoes, is required. Students will not be required to assist children in toileting or diapering. Training in Integrated Pest Management will be provided.
Students may reach out to the Main Contact to schedule interviews. Documents to complete (ex: Statement of Good Health) will be provided at the initial interview. Schedule will be negotiated during initial interview.
