The Golf Performance and Athletic Development Intern position at Perform for Golf offers hands-on experience in golf performance training. Opportunity Training 

To ensure intern success, Perform for Golf offers the following structured training: Onboarding and Orientation (2 hours) – A formal introduction to company policies, safety protocols, and P4G’s values, setting expectations for professionalism and client interactions. Assessment and Biomechanics Training (6 hours) – A multi-part training series over two weeks, covering golf-specific assessments, biomechanics fundamentals, and practical application in real client scenarios. Programming and Software Training (4 hours) – Hands-on sessions on developing individualized training programs, including a comprehensive overview of Trainerize software. Training includes practice assignments and supervised review over the first month. Coaching and Client Interaction (6 hours) – Shadowing senior coaches for initial sessions, followed by guided coaching practice with feedback, focused on building hands-on coaching and communication skills across a four-week period. Technology and Data Analysis Skills (4 hours) – Training in using performance tracking tools and data analysis software, with a focus on practical applications and data interpretation in a three-week period. Business and Marketing Training (3 hours) – Workshops on P4G’s marketing strategies and client engagement methods, including role-playing exercises for networking and event promotion, conducted over the first month. Facility and Operations Training (3 hours) – Detailed instruction on facility maintenance tasks, equipment care, and operational protocols, with ongoing guidance throughout the internship. This combined 28-hour training, delivered over the first four weeks, provides interns with practical, structured learning to ensure confidence and competency in their role.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Interns will receive training on safety protocols specific to gym and equipment usage, including proper handling of weights, machines, and golf performance tools. All interns must complete safety orientation, which covers emergency procedures, equipment maintenance, and sanitization practices to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff. Personal protective measures, such as regular sanitizing of hands and equipment, are required, and interns should report any hazards immediately. Additionally, interns are instructed on spotting techniques and client assistance to minimize injury risks during training sessions.
