Opportunity Summary 

Bring your smile to brighten the lives of seniors while nourishing their bodies and souls. This volunteer role provides you the opportunity to learn new things, keep yourself active, and make new friends. A senior meals volunteer provides assistance portioning, serving, and distributing hot lunches to participants enrolled in the program. You will work alongside other volunteers at one of our meal sites, typically at a senior center or senior independent living residential facility. This work is suitable for individuals who genuinely care about others, and hope to make a difference in the community.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will practice skills in areas of professional communication, collaboration, project management, and food safety. Students will learn about community issues such as food security, housing security, sustainability, developing healthy meals for seniors.
