Opportunity Summary 

· Performing ABA intervention in-home 1:1, parent training and consultation

· Develops and maintains a professional relationship and rapport with families, client, staff, and professionals
· Records and analyzes data/session notes from daily sessions
· Flexibility: is open and accepting to changes in cases and program delivery
· Responsible for maintaining communication between client families and supervisor
· Demonstrates leadership skills by leading by example
· Commutes safely between cases around the Orange County region

Tasks:

The individual will use applied behavior analysis to help implement treatment plans written from supervisors. The behavior therapist will also work with collecting data using technology to graph and submit objective data summaries.

Training:

The individual will attend monthly regional meetings, POD meetings with their direct supervisor, and receive weekly supervision from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Program Manager.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of this internship the individual working with Autism Spectrum Support Center, a family-owned agency, will grow with our team as a high energy Registered Behavior Technician / Paraprofessional to provide in home ABA 1:1 sessions with clients in the greater Orange County area. The individual will also learn antecedent and consequence strategies to apply in a clinical setting when working with the ages of 3-18. The individual will acquire experience utilizing applied behavior analysis to help implement treatment plans.

The intern/employee will work with individuals who are diagnosed or in the process of being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and or Down Syndrome. The intern/employee will receive on-boarding training where the administration team will provide strategies and guidelines to follow when working with clients with aggressive behaviors. Examples of procedures in place will be antecedent and consequence strategies used to help minimize and reduction maladaptive behaviors.
