Program Information

This placement is open to BSW & MSW students. 

STREAM is Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. STREAM believes that a strong foundation in science and mathematics provides a critical component to a successful 21st Century career. STREAM believes in the integration of technology, literacy, and the arts throughout the curriculum. This integrated learning provides support that meets the varied needs of all students.

Student interns at STREAM will be provided with opportunities to gain an understanding of the complexities of working as part of a multidisciplinary team (admin, GE, special education). Students will be given the opportunity to develop leadership and facilitation skills by assisting to organize, develop and implement TIER 2 small groups, classroom circles, and restorative meetings. Students will gain experience working with a ethnically and disability diverse population of students from TK-8th grade. 

Personal qualities of students that would be most successful in this environment inlcude: students that are organized, consistent, communicative, patient, flexible, willing to learn and adapt to new challenges, and willing to take constructive feedback and support.
