Program Information

Golden Empire Nursing & Rehab Center in Grass Valley, CA provides short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. It is a large facility with approx.150 beds. 

Social Services assist residents in maintaining/improving their ability to manage their everyday physical, mental, and psychosocial needs. Through the assessment process Social Service staff identify ways to support residents individual needs and preferences. Student intern will learn how to work with health care team (doctors, nurses, pharmacist, other facilities, homehealth agency as well as family). Students will also learn about case management, discharge planning, and end of life care/grief and loss issues. 

The ideal student intern will be able to jump right in, able to deal with unpredictable days, be flexible and willing to ask questions.
