Chico State Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities

Program Information

Student interns in our office will assist with providing case management for students who may be in crisis or suffering from external hardships that may impede their academic progress. Students will also practice confidentiality at a high level as they may encounter students they may be familiar with and must practice their ethical standards according to the NASW Code of Ethics. Students will be involved with campus wide trainings as well as other initiatives to educate the campus on the services the office provides as well as support services housed in our office. Students will participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to establish the services and resources that students will need to be successful moving forward after their encounter with our office. Students will become familiar with Student Rights & Responsibilities policies and procedures and with best practices for documentation.

The ideal student intern will be a self-starter, display ability to assess client needs on the go in a fast paced environment, be willing to ask questions when unsure, maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with NASW Code of Ethics and FERPA, and have a heart for students in need.
