Food Pantry InternAt — Community Food Pantry of Murrieta

Opportunity Summary 

Student would have the opportunity to help serve the community and those with food insecurities. We distribute food to over 3,000 people a month in Riverside County. Daily tasks will include grocery packing and sorting with some office filing assistance.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

The student will learn life skills, working in a warehouse grocery environment. They will develop organization and sorting skills by helping pack client groceries. Volunteers will work together in a fast paced environment to help serve the community. Office skills will be developed such as filing, answering phones and client intake.

Opportunity Training 

Training will be provided on site.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Students are required to wear closed toe shoes while in the pantry. Students may lift heavy boxes or crates when unpacking and sorting food.
