In relation to cultural competency, how will your agency assist students in developing skills and experiences in
working with diverse populations and persons with special needs?
CEI serves a highly diverse elder population, including individuals with varying racial/ethnic backgrounds,
languages and socioeconomic histories, abilities and special needs. To support students/interns in developing
cultural competency, CEI can provide a combination of structured learning, direct practice opportunities and
mentorship aligned with best practice guidelines for culturally competent care.
