Students will receive a virtual onboarding and training session that covers our mission, volunteer expectations, and core breast cancer awareness messaging. We will provide a detailed outreach guide, event planning checklist, approved educational materials, and suggested talking points to help students confidently engage the public without providing medical advice. Templates for flyers and social media posts will also be shared. Ongoing guidance will be available via email to ensure students feel supported while independently leading their outreach events.
Interested students should submit a brief statement of interest describing why they would like to participate in breast cancer awareness outreach and any relevant leadership or volunteer experience. Selected students will receive onboarding materials and a virtual orientation. Before hosting an outreach event, students must submit a short event plan for review and approval. After the event, students will submit a summary of outcomes and impact. No prior medical experience is required.
Students may participate in a one-time outreach event or choose ongoing involvement. Ongoing volunteers are encouraged to host one outreach event per month, based on their availability.
Service hours are flexible and will be verified based on actual participation. Students will receive credit for time spent in onboarding and preparation, event setup and outreach, and post-event reflection and reporting.
