Recreation Therapy Internship At — Department of State Hospitals-Metropolitan

Opportunity Summary 

Our internship program is a 680-hour program that consists of caseload documentation, planning, implementing, and leading groups. All interns will be responsible for organizing and executing community outings. Interns will be required to complete a special project and a case study before completing their internship hours at Metropolitan State Hospital. Our internship program is seeking interns who are motivated to learn, hardworking, and interested in entering the medical field to improve and enhance the quality of life of our Individuals.

Opportunity Training 

Students will be trained by a Site supervisor and meet with the Internship Coordinator to make sure the student is meeting the requirements.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Highly acute setting, as students will work with forensic patients and patients on conservatorship as well.
