Organization Description

The Community Services Department consists of the following divisions: Facilities - Maintenance of Placerville Station Park and Ride, Placerville Aquatics Center, Town Hall, Scout Hall, Gold Bug Park and Mine, and City Parks. Parks - Operation of: Historic Gold Bug Park and Mine, Lions Park Softball Complex, Lumsden Pond, El Dorado Trial, Placerville Aquatic Center, and neighborhood parks. Recreation - Management and operations of: Youth and Adult Sports, Leisure Enrichment Classes, Camps, Aquatics Programs, Special Events, and Facility Rentals. Special Events - Oversight and facilitation of Special Events within the City of Placerville; City Events, Legacy Events, Community Events and Downtown Placerville (Main Street) El Dorado Trail - Maintenance and oversight of 4.3miles of trail extending through the City of Placerville and connecting into El Dorado County.

  • RISK: Building, Repair, Community Clean up - Risk includes but not limited to: sun exposure, cuts, bruises, chemical exposure such as paint, tools and machinery, etc.
  • RISK: Event Set-up - Risk includes but not limited to: Lifting, cuts, bruises, etc.
  • RISK: Landscaping/gardening/habitat restoration - risk includes but not limited to: sun exposure, cuts, lifting falls, environmental exposure such as heat, moisture, and other outdoor elements, etc.
  • RISK: Physical Recreation - Risk includes but is not limited to: sprains, strains, bruises, gym equipment, falling
  • RISK: Serving and Preparation - risk includes but not limited to handling kitchen items, cuts, burns, lifting, etc.
  • RISK: Students will be asked to drive (in addition to travel to and from site) for this placement.
