Artist in ResidenceAt — SUNY-ESF, Adirondack Ecological Center
The Artist-in-Residence (AIR) creates works of art over the course of their residency that are in alignment with the goal of highlighting the intersection of nature, art and science upon which the Huntington Wildlife Forest was established. The artist will have a responsibility to spend time with members of the public in an informal capacity with open studio hours, while working outside along the trails and more formally while leading art-based workshops at the Adirondack Interpretive Center.
The Artist in Residence (AIR) will work directly with the AEC's education team in order to design, develop and deliver programming.
The job does not present any safety risks beyond those normally anticipated in an educational setting at a nature center. The living arrangements and setting do present additional safety risks associated with a remote, rural setting including but not limited to open bodies of water, wilderness terrain, potential wildlife encounters.
