Stone Soup Fresno

Organization Description

Stone Soup Fresno (SSF) mission is, “To inspire children and nurture families to realize their full potential in America.” At SSF, we believe real change happens when families, nonprofits, businesses, and government work together. We have successfully built a caring network for families to access the resources they need to cultivate positive changes. For over 40 years, our founders have believed education and family support are the core essentials to empower children and strengthens families. This year, 2026 we celebrate our 30th year but we have been deep in our work since the mid-1980s. At the heart of our mission, we know potential is universal but opportunity is not. For the low-income, immigrant, refugee, and marginalized communities we serve, systemic obstacles such as poverty, language barriers, generational trauma, and barriers to accessing education are battles still fought today. We exist to help remove these barriers. We strongly believe to change a future generation we must begin with children. Early support changes everything. We equip young learners with academic foundation, confidence, social-emotional skills, and cultural resonance needed to succeed in school, community, and life. While supporting the adults to learn skills to be more independent. When children believe in their ability to achieve, their trajectory changes. We strengthen families by providing viable resources, leadership development, and pathways to economic stability. We know from our own families some who have grown up through SSF that, when parents and caregivers are informed, supported, and empowered. The household grows stronger. We celebrate when families move from surviving day-to-day to building long-term security and opportunity. Our work is rooted in resilience. We honor strength while creating spaces of belonging, dignity, and hope. Stone Soup Fresno is more than a service provider; we are a bridge. We connect families to opportunity, community to collaboration, and hope to action. By investing in children and families today, we cultivate confident leaders, and stable households. We believe when families rise, communities rise with them. Generations are forever changed for the better.
