Opportunity Summary

Jelly's Place has volunteering opportunities for students to make a difference in the lives of dogs and cats. Volunteers help with general cleaning of kennels and animal spaces, organization or supplies and equipment, walking dogs, socializing cats, landscaping help, and animal photography for social media depending on student talents and interests. Opportunities may vary given the needs of the time. Students may also assist with marketing, grant writing, office support, and fundraising activities.
Volunteers working with our animals may work outside in inclement weather, so adequate clothing and shows are required (no open toe shoes).

Opportunity Training

Students receive a 1 hour initial orientation to the shelter environment and are guided by a staff member on tasks required around the facilities and animals, shadowing staff during an onboarding process. Ongoing training and support is given depending on tasks and student needs. For grant writing, marketing, fundraising tasks, ongoing consultation is available to students.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity

On site tasks: masks are required. No open toe shoes. Students are outdoors and exposed to the sun and the elements.
