Opportunity Summary 

When interning with Girls Inc. of the Island City, students will benefit from hands-on experience in youth development in a non-traditional setting, specifically with girls ages 6-18. They will also benefit from our Girls Inc. trained staff for extra support in their day-to-day responsibilities and, most importantly, to be an advocate for girls and women.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

By the end, students will have learned classroom management, how to best deal with behavioral challenges from participants, curriculum building, and mentorship skills.

Opportunity Training 

2 hours of training to go over daily responsibilities, safety/health (including COVID-19 procedures), guidelines, and how to best deal with behavioral needs from our participants

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

All staff and interns must wear a mask that fully covers their nose and mouth during their shift and follow the organization's COVID-19 and other safety guidelines.
