Opportunity Summary 

The internship provides the opportunity to shadow our CSCS certified Strength & Conditioning coach and participate in the evaluation, design, and implementation of Strength & Conditioning programs to include working directly with professional MMA athletes as well as the Crispim BJJ general community. Duties may include, but not limited to, cleaning and sanitation of facilities, preparing Strength and Conditioning area to receive athletes, spotting and supporting athletes throughout their training sessions, post work out break down, any assigned marketing or promotions of Crispim BJJ and it's programs, preparing reports based on peer reviewed scientific research and/or based on your experiences within Crispim BJJ and any/all other assigned work required by the CSUEB internship program.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will have learned how to test and evaluate athletes physical fitness, establish realistic training goals and outcomes, work with athletes in both one on one and team environments, develop circuit training, strength & conditioning and general fitness programs specific to the athletes and their relevant sport, specifically in this case MMA, Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, and develop their skill in order to support athletes as they rehabilitate from injury.

Opportunity Training 

The student will shadow and be trained by our Fitness/Strength & Conditioning Instructor/Coach, Erick Nicoletti, who also works with CSU East Bay. The training will be primarily on the job and live during classes with a period before and after each class/training session to plan, discuss and review.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Because this is a gym/academy, safety with equipment is essential.
