Operations InternshipAt — J.B. Hunt Transport Industry, Inc.
This position is governed by our internal division, Dedicated Contract Services (DCS), which provides outsourcing solutions for companies with private fleets.
Gain exposure and understanding of basic transportation management principles. Become involved and participate in daily operational tasks including planning of freight; asset utilization; safety management; Dept of Trans. (DOT) compliance; driver payroll; Customer Value Delivery; logistics management/analysis; driver supervision; profit and loss management; maintenance coordination.
Official trainingly lasts 2 weeks - the first week is orientation to JBHUNT and the role, as well as shadowing current processes. The second week involves reverse shadowing, where a professional will let the intern execute the tasks and provide feedback. Regular 1:1s with supervisor held.
Must be 18 or older and have a background check. Safety is high risk due to high-crime area, however, the location is secure and there has not been criminal activity reported on the site itself. Site prefers students from particular majors/academic programs or with specific coursework completed.
