Learning for Life Charter SchoolAt — Learning for Life Charter School
Interns support school engagement, academic success, and connection to social services available to students and families; referring families to services provided on-site and by other agencies; and fostering an ongoing partnership between the home and school. Works closely with staff to improve outreach to students and families and support academic progress. Key responsibilities include working with a caseload of students and their families to ensure school success, schedules and participates in meetings of students, parents, and staff for the purpose of exchanging information, discussing needs and problems, improving school participation, improving communication, and/or making referrals, provides information and assistance regarding college and career readiness, and provides other related duties as assigned.

Weekly meeting with other student advocates is on going throughout the internship, interns are required to complete a Child Abuse Reporting training provided by Learning for Life Charter School. Staff meetings occur weekly on Friday mornings and Board Meetings occur once monthly in the evenings. Professional development opportunities occur weekly that may or may not be applicable for interns.
