We go over our policies and have caregivers' complete modules on basic caregiving, including working with clients who have dementia or other complex illnesses. We continue to support them throughout their role, and they can always reach out if they feel they need additional training.
Safety is our number one priority students are taught safe lifting and mobility techniques to prevent injury to themselves and clients. Training includes how to respond to medical emergencies and recognize signs of distress in clients. Caregivers are educated on home safety hazards, including fall prevention, safe use of equipment, and proper handling of medications. Supervision and support are provided throughout the role, and students can contact supervisors at any time if they encounter unsafe situations.
