Founded in 1972, 1736 Family Crisis Center is a non profit organization dedicated to improving the safety and future prospects of individuals and their children affected by domestic violence, runaway and homeless youth, and other individuals in need. 1736 runs two outpatient centers 1 youth shelter, and 4 domestic violence shelters in the Southern California area.

Programs and Services Offered

Our Emergency Youth Shelter is licensed by the California Community Care Licensing Division. It is open to any runaway, homeless, or throwaway teenager (ages 10-17) who agrees to abide by the rules and participate in the program. The program is set up to help young people deal with past personal issues, such as anger or drug use. We also make clear the dangers of street living. All of this is done to help direct them toward positive and productive life paths.

The main goal of the Domestic Violence Shelter program is to help women and children overcome the personal traumas related to domestic violence. The program offers comprehensive services that include case management, counseling, job development and placement, legal help, life skills training, financial literacy, parenting education, referrals for free medical, and access to other services that a participant might need.

1736 Family Crisis Center provides shelter and services to survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, youth in any crisis, and homeless/at-risk veterans and their families.
