Program Sites

The Arcata Community Pool is a non-profit government agency that offers year-round recreational and educational activities. For over 35 years, we’ve offered the best water quality, cleanliness, education, and customer service on the North Coast. We are located at 1150 16th Street, next to Arcata High School. We are three blocks off the Arcata and Mad River Transit bus line, and within walking distance of H.S.U., the Arcata downtown area, and nearby parks. Come check us out!

The North Humboldt Recreation and Park District (NHRPD) is a special district as defined under the California Government Code.  The NHRPD is typical of a special district in that it receives a portion of property taxes to operate a focused public service.  In this case, the district runs one facility, the Arcata Community Pool. 

It is governed by a five-member Board of Directors whose membership consists of citizens of the district who serve four-year terms as defined by the Humboldt County Elections Office. The district boundaries encompass the city of Arcata and much of the surrounding areas between the Mad River and Indianola Road.

Our mission is to provide advocacy for and services to the homeless and food insecure with compassion, dignity, and empowerment.

Students are approved to serve at the following Arcata House Partnership sites:

• 4677 Valley West Blvd., Arcata  (Administrative Offices)
• 1501 9th St., Arcata (The Annex)
• 4701 Valley West Blvd., Arcata (The Grove)
• 5073 Boyd Rd., Arcata CA 95521 (Adult Shelter)

Arcata School District is located in Humboldt County, CA. Arcata Elementary serves TK-5, Sunny Brae Middle School serves 6-8, and we offer a Before School and After School Program. We also sponsor four charters.

We are a full service Veterinary Hospital. We offer traditional and conventional services in nutrition, radiology, wellness, and Dentistry.

Our Design Group’s mission is simple: develop interior and exterior design experiences that are distinctive, compelling and of superb quality and individuality.

Founded in 1980 with the simple ethos of creating great places through preserving our built heritage and having fun in the process, ARG has grown from a two-person office into a 50+ person firm with locations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Portland. Since the beginning, ARG has had the privilege of working with great clients and consultants on projects that preserve, protect, and adapt historic buildings, sites and objects for a new generation.
