Program Description: We are a Domestic and International adoption agency. In addition, we also have a program in which we reach out to birth mothers and birth fathers who wants to place their child for adoption. In Domestic Adoption, our social workers evaulate the adoptive parents. Once the family is approved to adopt, they will work with the Program Coordinator to create picture books and "Dear Birth Mom" letters to reach out to potential birth mothers. As for International Adoption, we assist families to be assessed and approved to become foster parents. We also work with U.S. Immigration and international government who matches the adopted children to the appropriate families.
Clientele Served:We work with adoptive parents, adopted children and adoptees from newborn and up, children from instituationalized care from other countries, and the birth families.
Issues Program Addresses:Children needing families domestically and internationally. We are also licensed to match and place Special Needs children from China. We discuss with adoptive parents of the type of Special Needs children they are open and prepared to accept.
Intern Assignments: (1) Family Assessments (Home Study), (2) Post Placement (Follow Up visits when the adoptive parents return with their adopted child), (3) Post Placement Tracking, (4) Auditing Personnel File, (5) Database Management, (6) Accrediation Compliance for Council on Accrediation for Adoption, (7) update Adoptive Tracking System update, and (8) Interagency Contracts.

Other Special Placement Procedures or Requirements (Including Dates of Internship, Special Application Forms and Deadlines): The second year MSW interns must be TB tested, and obtain fingerprint clearances for FBI, California Child Abuse, and Criminal.
