Program Description:
Guidance Clinic provides individual/family/group psychotherapy along with case management services for juvenile wards in Alameda County. The services are provided at juvenile hall, the boys camp and the outpatient sex offender program. The clinic also provides diagnostic evaluations of wards as directed by the Court.
Clientele Served:
Youth of color who are over-represented in the juvenile justice system. Commercial Sexually exploited Youth
Issues Program Addresses:
Delinquency. Trauma. Family system issues. Mental illness. Poverty. Racism, sexism, homophobia etc. Learning disabilities.
Intern Assignments:
Interns provide engagement, assessment, treatment. planning, individual/family/group psychotherapy in addition to extensive case management services.
Intern Training & Educational Opportunities:
Weekly didactic training by ACBHCS licensed professionals. Weekly Group and Individual Supervision.
Intern Benefits: (Include stipend, conferences, car, food, etc.)
Interns can apply for yearly stipend of up to $6,000

Interns must successfully complete County Volunteer application process: physical exam, LiveScan fingerprinting etc.
