Program Description:
Transitional Youth Services provides housing case management and independent living skills and counseling to youth ages 18-24 who emancipated from foster care or probation.

Clientele Served:
Youth ages 18-24 who emancipated from foster care or probation
StarVista serves a range of populations, including children and families, adults, people in recovery, young children, and families. We provide services through parent/child dyads, school based services, counseling (individual, family couples, and group), and residential services. We serve a diverse group in San Mateo County including people who represent a range of ethnicities, countries of origin, social economic status, sexual orientation, immigration status, and those who have access to services.
Issues Program Addresses:
Provides housing, independent living skills, case management, support, and advocacy for youth who emancipated from foster care or probation.
Intern Assignments:
Case management, advocacy, and counseling with youth ages 17-24 who were in foster care or probation placements. Intern will work with partnering agencies and work with individuals and groups.
Intern Training & Educational Opportunities:
Staff meetings, weekly didactic, intern cohort in agency, individual and group supervision available, quarterly trainings, other agency trainings offered

Interns are required to be available Tuesdays from at least 3pm-8:30pm for group at residential program in South San Francisco if working with Transitional Youth Services.
