Organization Description

The UCSF Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care strives to address challenges of the perioperative and critical care environments and in-patient surgical mortality rates. Currently, the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care utilizes over 100 faculty, 72 residents in clinical training, and 15 research-trainees and fellows. In addition to the University Hospital, very active units of the department exist at San Francisco General Hospital Medical Center, the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and UCSF/Mount Zion Medical Center.

Program Information

Here at SFGH we have a Clinical Informatics Department that works on various projects related to Meaningful Use (Electronic Health Record). The intern will be assisting with various projects relating to education rollout of the different computer systems and possibly serving as a Health Information Technology (HIT) coach to providers, nurses, admin.This HIT coach will train and learn our outpatient computer system eCW, and with each rollout to new clinics across SFGH and also the Department of Public Health, provide support to the end users and assist them with their questions and help with any problems.
