Organization Description

Health Advocate provides employees and their families with the tools, support, and direction they need to stop smoking, lose weight, improve nutrition, exercise, have a healthy pregnancy, manage chronic illness, and reduce stress levels. Our programs reverse the trend of runaway healthcare costs and provide benefits that come from a healthier, happier workforce.

Program Information

Health Advocate offers interns the opportunity to assist the wellness coaches in introducing clients to the wellness coaching department and assisting in the development of educational materials, researching for health centered campaigns, and attending on-site events such as health screenings (as possible). Project description: Upon hiring, interns will be trained in HIPAA compliance and the wellness coaching database system. Interns will gain hands-on experience answering calls from clients to introduce them to the wellness coaching department, explaining the areas for wellness coaching education and programs such as Ultimate Weight Loss and WellQuit smoking cessation program. Interns will also be working on developing educational materials and updating current educational materials such as tip sheets, monthly newsletters and seasonal e-mail campaigns. If local on-sites events are scheduled during an internship, interns will have the opportunity to attend and work as a health educator for clients wanting to review their screening results.
