Organization Description

The Family Resource Center is community support center located in the west end of Alameda. We provide youth support services to at risk youth who are a part of the juvenile justice system. We host a teen clinic once a week that offers medical, mental health and health education services to students of the surrounding schools. We also offer support to anyone needing help applying for social services such as CalFRESH, Covered California/MediCAL, CalWORKS, Social security, housing, immigration support, and much more. All services provided are at no charge to clients.

Program Information

Interns will serve as youth liaison to Alameda Family Services Family Resource center's K-12 Health education curriculum development. Interns will Co-facilitate health education presentations to K-12 students. Interns will aid in development programming, Individual health education, sexual health education appointments, and promotion of FRC services. Interns will work directly with youth in the teen room of FRC. Interns will also aid with developing health promotion materials and events, as well as Data tracking and entry.
