Organization Description

The Haight Ashbury Free Medical Clinic has been providing free primary health care to the uninsured and underserved people of San Francisco since 1967. The Clinic's philosophy is that health care is a right and not a privilege, and that care should be provided in a non-judgmental atmosphere.

Program Information

There are a variety of projects that will be suitable for interns: outreach activities, QI activities, (data entry) reporting requirements, patient interaction activities and others. Our target population are primarily low income people who are in desperate need for healthcare. Some of our interns will also be assisting with data entry, and filling in the required indicators for our reports that are due with San Francisco Clinic consortium. We also have a few projects that we would like to have our interns plan and implement; Diabetes - nutrition. Smoking - Education and Cessation - create action plans.
