Organization Description

La Clinica is a community health center that provides health services to low-income, uninsured and underserved communities in Alameda, Contra Costa and Solano Counties. Havenscourt Health Center is a School Based Health Center that provides no cost medical care, dental care, behavioral health and health education to middle and high school students. In addition to primary care services, we conduct campus wide outreach, work with student leaders on health education projects and hold groups focused on nutrition and food justice.

Program Information

Interns would work on a variety of projects that support the day to day operations of the health center (including outreach and enrollment) as well as have opportunitites to design and deliver health education and outreach workshops, organize adolescent groups and help plan and coordinate campus wide sexual health outreach events (Get Yourself Tested & Check Yourself). The interns would be part of a great team of medical providers, health educators, behavioral health and dental staff and would gain skills working directly with middle and high school students and in a clinic setting.
