Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach

Organization Description

We’re a not-for-profit, pediatric teaching hospital that treats more than 8,000 children each year and has become a regional pediatric destination for more than 84,000 children, who need specialized care in our outpatient specialty and satellite centers. More than 750 pediatric specialists and sub-specialists ensure that the highest quality, compassionate care is given to each patient and their family.

Program Information

The Child Life Program at Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach eases the anxiety of children and families during a hospitalization through teaching, distraction, and opportunities for therapeutic play. We know that it takes more than medicine to help children heal, and so by allowing children to play, create, and experience joy while in the hospital, we can promote healing.
