Organization Description

TrueCare is one of the most trusted health care providers in San Diego and Riverside Counties. Our friendly staff and compassionate physicians specialize in providing quality health care and wellness services to underserved communities so people can get the care they need. Our goal is to make health care available to everyone in the communities we serve, regardless of income or insurance status. To improve the health status of our diverse communities by providing quality health care that is comprehensive, affordable, and culturally sensitive.

Program Information

The Service Learning student will lead and assist in outreach activities and community events that increase community awareness of the services and programs provided by TrueCare. The Golden Years Intern will gain hands on experience by assisting and implementing psycho-educational classes for participants of the Golden Years Program. The intern will help organize events and classes for Hispanic Adults and learn skills to increase community knowledge on mental health and wellness. The Patient Retention & Engagement Intern will gain hands on experience by assisting as a receptionist at the resource center and support the PRE Team (Patient Retention & Engagement).

Through training, mentorship, and routine interactions, Service Learning students learn new skills, expand their networks, and achieve personal and professional growth.
