Local Ecology and Agriculture Fremont (LEAF)

Organization Description

Local Ecology and Agriculture Fremont (LEAF) is a Northern California-based volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to educating people about healthy soil and caring for the planet, growing and sharing healthy produce with people facing food insecurity, advancing soil science, and connecting people to food, the land, and each other. Founded in 2008, it uses its two urban gardens as living classrooms, soil science labs, and community spaces that empower people to learn, connect, and grow together. LEAF serves youth, families, and underserved communities in Fremont and the Bay Area through workshops, classes and summer programs, partnerships with food banks and educational institutions, and community events.
