Second Harvest Food Bank

Organization Description

Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties is the trusted leader dedicated to ending local hunger. The Food Bank mobilizes individuals, companies, and community partners to connect people to the nutritious food they need. Nearly half of the food distributed is fresh produce. Second Harvest also plays a leading role in promoting federal nutrition programs and educating families on how to make healthier food choices.

Program Information

Volunteers represent an integral part of the success of Second Harvest's ability to help provide food to people in need in our community. Last year, volunteers contributed nearly 314,000 hours of service, which more than doubled the size of our staff!

Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties involves hundreds of volunteers each week in all aspects of our operation. We welcome and appreciate your time, talent, and interest for the benefit of others in our community. We have individual and group volunteer opportunities for those who are 14 years of age or older.
