Organization Description

Cesar Chavez Ravenswood Middle School is part of the Ravenswood City School District (RCSD) in San Mateo County, a unique academic environment that draws from the culturally rich communities of East Palo Alto and eastern Menlo Park. The ethnic make-up of the population is predominantly Hispanic (80%), African American (9%), Pacific Islander (12%) and other (4%). Aligned with the goals of the district, Ravenswood Middle School a newly middle school with the initiative to improve the educational opportunities provided for students and their families. This Journey to Excellence strives to improve the academic, social, and overall health and economic conditions for the entire Ravenswood community.

Program Information

Academic, social emotional supports available to students as well as after school enrichment programs. Partnership with the 49ers Academy and Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula. Parental supports such as partnerships with Community Based Organizations that provide mental health support, housing, food assistance, and parent advisory committees.

Students will be working with "behaviorally challenged" populations.
